I am considered an “out of network” clinician with insurance companies. I am not paneled under insurance companies due to ethical, financial, and privacy concerns I have for my clients. I do offer a superbill for those would like to get reimbursed by their insurance provider.

It depends on the insurance company. I recommend you call your insurance company and ask whether or not they will reimburse you. Here is a script:

“I will be seeing a licensed clinical mental health counselor and I will pay out of pocket since she is not in network with my insurance, and I plan to submit a superbill for reimbursement. Could you please tell me how much my plan reimburses for the following CPT codes?

• 90791 — Initial diagnostic evaluation
• 90837 — Individual psychotherapy, 60 minutes
• 90834 — Individual psychotherapy, 45 minutes

Will you also cover telehealth appointments?

I’d also like to confirm whether my deductible applies before reimbursement starts, and what percentage of the allowed amount is reimbursed after the deductible is met.

Finally, could you tell me if I need any prior authorization or if there are session limits for out-of-network mental health services?”

• We are also able to meet with you virtual for telehealth appointments.

We accept credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, Zelle, or cash.

No checks.

Late canceled individual appointments without 36 hours’ notice are billed at the full fee of $150. Missed individual appointments are billed at the full fee of $150.
